Maintaining your CISSP: CPE credits and annual maintenance

Earning the CISSP starts a maintenance cycle: 120 Continuing Professional Education credits over three years plus an Annual Maintenance Fee.

Earning CPEs

CPEs come from training courses, webinars, publishing, teaching, attending security conferences, self-study and volunteering. One hour of qualifying activity generally equals one CPE.

Practical habits

Log CPEs as you earn them rather than in an end-of-cycle scramble, and keep certificates: ISC2 audits a sample of members every year.
