An 8-week CISSP study plan
Eight weeks of consistent, focused study is a realistic runway for most working professionals. This plan assumes 60 to 90 minutes per day plus a longer weekend block.
Weeks 1-2: read broadly
Read the full curriculum once without trying to memorise. The goal is a mental map of the eight domains and the vocabulary of the exam.
Weeks 3-5: drill by domain
Revisit each domain in depth, pairing reading with practice questions. Review every wrong answer and read the explanation even for questions you guessed correctly.
Weeks 6-7: mixed practice
Switch to timed mixed sessions that shuffle all domains. This trains the exam's adaptive feel and exposes the domain boundaries you still blur.
Week 8: simulate and rest
Take at least one full-length simulation, review your error log, skim your notes, and stop heavy study 24 hours before the exam.
